Born and raised on her family's east coast winery, Kristin moved to Portland in 2001. After earning her BA from Portland State University, she joined her father, Rudy, in 2006, following his acquisition of Montinore Estate. Together, they revitalized the legacy brand into one of the Willamette Valley's most respected wineries and one of the world's largest certified Biodynamic producers. Following its 2016 acquisition, Kristin managed a 3-year transition with Ackley Beverage Group.
In 2019, Kristin joined Antony Beck's domestic wine team, launching Beck Family Estates and executing a multi-year Oregon growth strategy. This included acquiring 160 acres in Eola-Amity Hills, and overseeing development of Abbott Claim winery in Yamhill-Carlton.
A passionate advocate for Oregon wine, Kristin was named to Portland Business Journal's Forty Under 40 in 2018. She has served on boards for the Willamette Valley Wineries Association, International Pinot Noir Celebration, and Oregon Pinot Camp.
Kristin has been integral to recent M&A transactions, including Sparkman Cellars to NW Wine Holdings, Marsh Family Estate to Italy’s Santa Margherita, The Radiant Sparkling Wine Company to Vinovate, and The Duckhorn Portfolio’s Longwinds vineyard to Quilceda Creek.
Kristin lives in Portland with her husband, two children, and numerous pets, enjoying outdoor adventures and cooking for loved ones.
As COO and CFO of Rombauer Vineyards, Matthew Owings brings a blend of strategic vision and operational expertise to his roles. Matthew first discovered his love for wine right after college—a passion kindled by a memorable bottle of Rafanelli Zinfandel.
Matthew graduated from Harvey Mudd College and earned an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. In 2009, an opportunity at Jackson Family Wines drew Matthew into the wine industry. He quickly advanced to VP of Finance, overseeing strategic projects and M&A activities, including the acquisition of several wineries.
Matthew’s leadership and acumen have been instrumental in Rombauer’s continual evolution. Joining Rombauer in 2018 as CFO, Matthew was soon named COO as well. He has played a pivotal role in the winery’s expansion into new markets and smooth transition to Gallo Family ownership.
