Join us for the exciting East Coast expansion & celebration of Oasis Collective; the preeminent NPO advancing the influence of emerging women leaders on the future of tech, as well as the first AI tech house, for women by women. The evening will feature an expert panel discussion and networking reception for Boston women and allies of AI, equity, and optimizing the value of innovation.
Background:
The AI “gold rush” is on a sure trajectory to drive efficiency, revolutionize industry, and alter human experience as we know it, but we need to design systems, practices, and community extremely quickly to ensure the AI landscape is primed to yield net positive outcomes and mitigate harm. This rapidly developing frontier presents a crucial opportunity to learn from mistakes of the past, and create technology, companies, and systems that drive more sustainable business and societal value, but with just 2% of VC funding going to women-run startups, a persistent issue of lack of diversity of talent and thought in tech, and commitments to inclusion and safety at risk, the AI race in terms of both U.S. competitive advantage and societal enrichment are also at risk.
Boston is a dynamic center of innovation and thought leadership, with an emerging ecosystem for women influencing AI; but there currently is no centralized organization specifically dedicated to these aims and community. This presents an amazing opportunity, and we are thrilled to partner with Silicon Valley Bank to launch a branch of Oasis Collective in Boston, with our first educational networking event and launch of our community app.
