Andy Tsao is a Managing Director and leads SVB’s Global Gateway, which assists innovation companies in the global markets with their US and international market expansion. He brings more than 25 years of experience banking dynamic companies in technology industries worldwide.

In his roles, Andy manages SVB’s relationships with venture capital and private equity firms outside the U.S., and also helps international companies as they seek U.S. market entry and U.S. companies as they seek to expand abroad. In both capacities, Andy provides these firms with strategic advice and banking services, including debt financing, based on a deep understanding of their needs.

Previously, Andy led and helped found SVB’s U.K.-based operation, SVB Financial Group UK Ltd, which was established in 2004. For six years, he was responsible for building senior debt relationships with high-growth technology, life sciences and clean technology companies in the U.K. and Europe. When Andy returned to CA, he led SVB’s Global Funds Banking practice for Asia and founded the Global Gateway.
Charles Wedderburn is CFO at Hadean, a UK-based defence technology company building AI-powered digital wargaming and command-and-control capabilities for the UK MOD, US Department of War, NATO and allied militaries.
Charles joined ahead of Hadean's 2019 seed round and has guided its evolution from a gaming-focused distributed compute platform, through the metaverse, and into one of the UK's leading defence and resilience tech scale-ups. He has led successive funding rounds, most recently a round led by Booz Allen Ventures with Entrepreneurs First, Twin Track Ventures and the British Business Bank, anchoring Hadean's expansion into the US.
Charles trained within Tesco's finance team before moving into venture-backed technology businesses, combining big-company discipline with early-stage pragmatism to operate at pace at the intersection of frontier technology and defence.
Daniel Glazer leads the US Expansion group and the London office at Silicon Valley-headquartered Wilson Sonsini, which has represented more tech and life sciences companies on their venture financings, M&A transactions, and IPOs than any other law firm globally. Wilson’s London-based team of US and dual US/UK-qualified tech and life sciences lawyers supports UK/EU startups through their US life cycle – US launch and scaling, US fundraising, US partnerships, and US M&A/IPO exit - and facilitates access to the firm’s global network of capital providers, corporates, and advisors.
Kayla Auletto is the Sector Director, Technology - North America for the UK Department of Business & Trade. In this role, she directs the UK Government’s work with tech companies as they expand into the US market and promotes trade policy that bolsters US-UK collaboration in deep tech. Areas of focus include artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and digital services.
Â
She joined the British Consulate General in Chicago in 2020 and has held previous roles leading the UK Government’s commercial engagement with tech, space, and aerospace companies across 14 states in the Midwest and Colorado.
Â
Kayla has a background in the public sector, universities, and nonprofits across a variety of programmatic, development, and policy roles. She’s held positions at Georgetown University / GU Politics, The White House, the Council on Foundations, Northwestern University, and World Food Program USA.
