Sara Rona is a Managing Director of Startup Banking for Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and is the market lead for UK/Europe, Middle East North Africa (Turkey, Egypt, UAE, and Jordan) and Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) where she manages a global portfolio of tech startups and venture capital firms who are expanding stateside and need cross-border banking services as they scale, providing value beyond banking and being their bridge into the US.
Sara joined SVB in 2018 and has been in finance for the last 15 years at a variety of different financial institutions including HSBC, IFC-World Bank and Deutsche Bank and has an MBA in international business. She's spent time living in Dubai, Bangkok, Paris, London, and the US. By way of background, Sara is from France and Afghanistan.
Elias Saadeh is a Vice President for SVB’s Frontier Technology group helping Series A through Series C founders secure the efficient sources of capital they need to scale. Elias provides companies with valuable industry insights, key connections and creative venture debt solutions to help them scale their business.
Elias serves on the board of TechWadi, helping bridge the gap between Silicon Valley and MENA. His primary focus is to provide access to capital, talent, mentorships, and networks to entrepreneurs with ties to the region. Prior to joining SVB in 2020, Elias helped teams expand their footprint at Square, Bloomberg and Carta.
As an entrepreneur (2 exits), computer, and data scientist, Nawar has imagined, built, scaled, and sold software to startups, governments, and enterprises. His products have appeared on FiveThirtyEight, Fast Company, and Time. Nawar founded Augur and it took through Techstars Boulder. 3 years after its founding, Augur reached >40M users in its graph, before being sold for 8 figures, after being named the #7 fastest growing startup in Denver, CO. After M&A, Nawar became Chief Software Architect at Bounce Exchange, where he launched several products, including their user graph, and in less than a year, grew it from 0 to >260M users and billions of predictions per day. Inc. 5000 named BounceX the #1 fastest growing startup in 2016. Nawar is applying his insights to found Bytez.
